Singer (baritone/bass)

Rob Wanders studied singing with Cora Canne Meijer at the Opera Academy of the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam (the current Conservatorium of Amsterdam). He graduated there in 1993. He has sung solo in oratorios and operas, with conductors as Hartmut Haenchen, Ed Spanjaard, Julian Reynolds, Reinbert de Leeuw and Frans Brüggen. He gave concerts until 2008 with his classical trio “D.A.L.I.” and with singer/pianist Wiebe Pier Cnossen he formed “Strangers in the Crowd” until 2010. They played mostly jazz standards, country songs, spirituals and ballads.


Rob’s main profession is as freelance chorussinger with The Dutch National Opera. In the past he did the same with the Dutch Touring Opera (Nederlandse Reisopera), The Flemish Opera, Onafhankelijk Toneel Rotterdam, Koor Nieuwe Muziek and the Bach Choir of the Netherlands.

On these CDs he sings classical music, jazz, folk and country music. On the CDs ‘Nu De Nachten Nog…’, ‘Ik Vergeet Je Niet’ en ‘Grens Van Werkelijkheid” sings Rob Dutch songs including several Elvis-covers translated in Dutch by himself.
